Rate: $250-$275 per day (depending on qualifications) and a daily per diem of $50. All accommodations and travel is covered.

Job Description


As Crew Support you are responsible for working in tandem with management, Lead Hands and the team in the field executing on set up, event day and tear down of the 5K Foam Fest. You will maintain an area of responsibility in the field as an individual contributor and be responsible for working alongside the rest of the crew as an individual contributor.


Work collaboratively as an integral crew member on the 2022 5K Foam Fest tour.  Duties include traveling across Ontario for the 7 event locations with the crew to set up prior to each event, manage event day activities, tear down each event and travel to the next venue to repeat this cycle.

5K Foam Fest offers 22 + obstacles to its participants so there is a lot of equipment involved in the setup and tear down of each event. We take pride in offering an outstanding experience to all of our participants and expect that all of our employees would be like-minded. Also, we expect all employees to handle all of our property and resources with the utmost care and competency.

Over the course of a weekly schedule you would be involved in the following activities:

  • Execute the setup and/or tear-down of event equipment to quality standards and within an assigned workflow, following instructions of the onsite lead/Crew Manager
  • Keep equipment organized and handled with proper care
  • Accurately pick, pull, load, and unload equipment and tools with proper safety techniques
  • Assist in the set-up of the course which includes: Unrolling and rolling inflatables in set up and tear down activities, Assembling wall and pool obstacles (wood),
  • Setting re-bar and marking course with race tape,
  • Running electric cords to power blower; meeting all safety standards
  • Setting up pumps and laying hoses for water obstacles
  • Placing water bags and filling them
  • Safely and skillfully operating a UTV
  • Assembling scaffolding; meeting and exceeding safety requirements
  • Setting up tents, flags, signage, banners and other festival materials
  • Spiking t-bar and setting bungee rope for bungee obstacles
  • Setting up finish line coral with medals, water, towels, freezers, supplies for event day staff and volunteers, etc.
  • Interacting with all customers and staff on event day in a professional and efficient manner, assisting them as required

The worker is subject to both environmental conditions. This job occasionally occurs inside, frequently occurs outside, and is subject to outside environmental conditions.


The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

  • Must be able to work in an outdoor setting during events. This includes heat, cold, wet environments and various terrain.
  • Long periods of standing and walking during the event are required
  • Physical stamina, repetitive motion, and heavy lifting is a major requirement of these roles.
  • Extensive travel (road) to various events is required.



  • Previous experience working in a construction environment (or similar) and knowledge on the proper and safe use of power tools
  • Highly organized and attentive to detail
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Excels in a fast-paced and evolving environment
  • Exemplary self-discipline, professionalism and work ethic
  • Integral team player who is flexible and open to new tasks/responsibilities as required
  • Outgoing, friendly, personable, energetic and approachable
  • Proven ability to understand and effectively execute instructions
  • Ability to work in a team environment to gain consensus, share opinions, work through conflict and share a team vision/goal
  • Possess a valid driver’s license
  • Proficiency in small engine mechanical skills an asset
  • Fork Lift/Telehandler license an asset
  • Proven skills and abilities in any trades such as carpentry, electrician, etc. an asset
