Youth Engagement Coordinator

Job Description

The successful applicant will be responsible for, but not limited to:

• Establish new and existing community partnerships
• Meet with youth and staff at local schools to gain feedback about current youth issues in our community and promote initiatives and opportunities for youth
• Act as a liaison with parents, police and other community partners to ensure optimal service and programs to youth
• Facilitate development of new programs
• Evaluate programs
• Advocate for youth in the community
• Prepare reports and maintain statistical information
• Attend meetings with regional committees on initiatives to support/expand youth engagement

Qualifications:

• Post-Secondary Education Diploma/Degree in a related field or related experience
• Current Vulnerable Sector Criminal Reference Check
• AODA and Health & Safety Training (BVO willing to train)

Required Skills/Knowledge:

• Experience working with youth and community youth initiatives
• Program planning, implementing and evaluating events and activities
• Excellent communication skills
• Computer skills
• Ability to work flexible hours
• Capable problem solver and decision maker
