Job Title: Payroll and Accounting (Fee for Service) Coordinator
Work Hours:   Monday to Friday, 8:00 am to 4:00
Wage: Starting at $22.96 per hour
Anticipated Start Date: ASAP
Location: Collingwood, ON

  • Process Biweekly Payroll – Review electronic time sheets and various reports for accuracy, ensuring hours paid properly, at the correct rate and that they are allocated to the correct program budgets, making corrections as necessary
  • Verify, prepare and distribute reports as required and create Ad-Hoc reports on demand
  • Assist in payroll and timesheet audit activities and provide assistance to finance and HRS as required
  • Assist in tax calculations and filing activities as per IRS regulations
  • Respond to payroll queries from employees in a timely manner resolving concerns and bringing items to the attention of management as needed
  • Create, modify and verify employee files within the HRIS/Payroll system as required
  • Process the termination of employee ensuring they receive all earnings payable on their final pay and that any vacation outstanding, loans/deductions are reconciled.  Request ROE when applicable and notify Key Control of the termination
  • Verify, prepare and distribute accounting reports as required
  • Maintain and update schedule templates as required, process schedules for required employee groups and act as a resource for scheduling questions.
  • Accurately complete documentation required by Government Agencies meeting all necessary timelines
  • Financial administration of benefits including payment of group insurance invoice and reconciliation and allocation to program budgets
  • Administer RRSP plan including new enrolments, changes, withdrawals and set up of extra contributions.  Remit contributions electronically to Insurance carrier
  • Administration of Fee for Services accounts including Passport Program including, but not limited to:
    • invoicing and overall funds disbursement through Passport One and Payment Agencies
    • support finance by maintaining accounting aspects associated with the program
    • ensures that client records are current and accurate
    • Contribute to the development and modification of policies and procedures
    • Actively engage in self-development
 

Qualifications:

  • Excellent knowledge of payroll Canadian and Ontario legislation related to payroll and employment standards
  • Demonstrated working knowledge of integrated computer payroll, human resources and accounting systems. Proficiency with Day force is an asset.
  • Good knowledge of computer programs and ability to problem solve
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Proven self-starter with sound judgment and decision-making ability with evidence of innovative, critical and logical thinking
  • Demonstrated ability to work with minimum of supervision, establishing priorities and meeting deadlines.
  • Proven ability to communicate courteously and effectively in English in person, in writing and over the telephone with faculty, staff, administrators, auditors, Ministry and agency officials and the public.
  • Proven ability to recognize, analyze and resolve problems.
  • Demonstrated effective interpersonal skills, including a demonstrated ability to develop, establish, and maintain effective working with a wide variety of Agency employees and with external agencies.
  • Demonstrated ability to compose routine and non-routine correspondence and reports.
  • Demonstrated customer service and responsiveness required
  • Valid Ontario driver’s license and use of vehicle to support travel
  • Ability to travel off-site.
