Responsibilities for this position include:

• Assist in preparation and organization of materials, supplies, equipment, and logistics.
• Support the delivery of training in the field and online using google classroom.
• Assist in documenting field and training activities and contribute to report writing.
• Research leads and contacts to identify opportunities for program expansion.
• Organize and summarize feedback from program participants.
• Assist in the creation of content for social media, testimonials, and related program communication materials/tools.

Qualifications:

• Be between 15 and 30 years of age at the start of the employment.
• Be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person who has been granted refugee status in Canada under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act.
• Be legally entitled to work in Canada per relevant provincial or territorial legislation and regulations. International participants are not eligible. Recent immigrants are eligible if they are Canadian citizens or permanent residents.

The ideal candidate for this position will possess the following:

• Preference for an educational background in environmental/water related studies.
• Excellent communication skills, written and verbal.
• Strong organizational skills and strict attention to detail.
• Proficient computer skills: experience with Microsoft Office, Google Suite, and professional e-mail techniques.
• Commitment to environmental values.
• The ability to work effectively independently and collaboratively in a dynamic environment.
• Resourceful and able to take initiative in a changing workplace environment.
• Must be able to perform a variety of physically demanding tasks including moving display materials and boxes.
• An interest in environmental and water science and working in collaboration with Indigenous communities.
• You are creative, have a can-do attitude, and you will approach this role with a passion for helping others.
• Experience with water testing equipment/tools would be considered an asset.

Our Environmental and Drinking Water Internship programs focus on addressing the gap in access to water science training in Indigenous communities by integrating technical training with hands-on, project-based learning in partner communities.  Our team requires significant assistance in delivering and coordinating seasonal aspects of our training programs.
