Work Hours:

8:30 – 4:30 Monday to Thursday.

8:30 to 3:30 on Friday.

 

Wage:

From $20.00 per hour

Health Benefits available after 3 months

Job Description

Youth Job Connection Job Coach/Facilitator supports individuals in obtaining and retaining employment through active, individualized job search, employment preparation, and placement job coaching at the work site if required

·      Develop effective individual employment plans; assisting individual to discover and overcome employment barriers

·      Provide one to one support to participants with preparing for interviews and completing job applications Identify suitable job opportunities in the local labour market

·      Match participant to job opportunities and support transition to workplace

·      Monitor participants’ performance at work through communication with the employer and participant

·      Identify need for workplace supports and develop support solutions and service plans

·      Implement service solutions to meet participant needs, including coaching at place of employment as needed.

·      Monitor and document workplace activities

·      Assist employers to implement supports and to provide ongoing supervision and training of the participant

·      Employer relations: receive employer feedback regarding participant’s performance and training needs

·      Support Program Facilitators delivering pre employment workshops as required

Contract length: Until March 31, 2022 and potential for extension

 

Qualifications:

Skills Required

·      Excellent written and verbal communications

·      Experience delivering to deliver workshops in various settings

·      Organizational and time management

·      Administrative, as required to articulate workshop goals, maintain accurate records of service and follow-up evaluations

·      Demonstrated sound judgment in making decisions effecting the health, safety and welfare of clients

·      Demonstrate understanding of local area, various business and local labour market

·      Demonstrate ethical professional behaviour in decision making, client services and all aspects of behaviour to understand when to report or seek assistance when faced with an ethical dilemma

Qualifications

·      Post secondary education in social sciences

·      Experience with youth/employment counselling and coaching

·      Valid drivers license and reliable transportation essential

·      Computer Competency
