Collingwood Opportunities Header

The Opportunities Program is an 8-week pre-employment program for individuals 18 years of age and older. The program centers around mental health, well-being, and job readiness. Participants complete 8 weeks of pre-employment enhanced training workshops (25 hours /week), followed by an 8-week job placement. The Opportunities Program works with various local employers to help you find sustainable employment.

Workshops include:

  • Enhancing communication, time management, teamwork and conflict resolution skills
  • Developing a healthy routine, guide to self-care, mental health awareness and building a mental well-being toolkit
  • Discovering local job market, job searching, resume and cover letter writing and interview preparation
  • Creating wrap-around support
  • First Aid/CPR Certifications (as well as other job-specific certifications)

You will have access to Program Facilitators and a Job Coach for support.

Funding is available for job supports, such as clothing, transportation, footwear, etc.
