Job Title: Social Media & Content Creator – Summer Student
Work Hours: Summer Contract (approximately 280 hours over contract period)
Wage: $17.60 /hour
Anticipated Start Date: May 1, 2026

Job Description

You must meet the criteria of the Canada Summer Jobs Program (age 30 and under)

This is a hybrid position. You’ll work partly from home and partly on-site at BMFA, capturing real moments from exhibitions, workshops, and events.

Hours: Approximately 280 hours total (summer contract)

Location: Collingwood, ON (must be able to travel to BMFA 1–2 times per week and attend events, exhibition openings, and occasional weekends)

You’ll play a key role in showing people what BMFA is all about.

What You’ll Do

  • Capture photo and video content at the gallery, workshops, and events
  • Create short-form videos (Reels) and posts for Instagram and Facebook
  • Edit content using mobile or desktop tools
  • Write clear, engaging captions
  • Maintain a consistent posting schedule and content calendar
  • Highlight artists, artwork, and community moments
  • Support promotion of exhibitions and events (including the Collingwood Art Market)
 

Qualifications:

What We’re Looking For:

  • Experience creating content for social media using Meta Business Suite
  • Strong interest in video content and visual storytelling
  • Basic editing skills (CapCut, InShot, or similar)
  • Good eye for composition, lighting, and capturing moments
  • Ability to work independently and stay organized
  • Collaborate with the BMFA team and be comfortable interacting with artists and the public
  • Able to manage time, meet deadlines, and maintain a consistent posting schedule
  • Familiarity with tools such as Facebook and Instagram.

Work Structure:

  • Hybrid: remote work + on-site at BMFA
  • Attend the gallery 1–2 times per week to capture content
  • Attend key events (some evenings and weekends required)
  • Flexible scheduling based on programming, with a consistent posting rhythm and regular check-ins
