Job Title: Preschool Cook
Work Hours: 30 – 35 hours per week, Monday – Friday
Wage: Wage Range: $24.60 – $26.45 per hour (Living Wage Bruce Grey)
Anticipated Start Date: Immediate
Location: Thornbury, ON
 

Job Description

 Beaver Valley Outreach Preschool is accepting resumes for a Cook. The successful applicant will be responsible for, but not limited to:

  • Plan menus, that meet requirements for nutrition and special diets as outlined in Canada’s Food Guide and Child Care and Early Years Act (CCEYA)
  • Grocery shopping weekly
  • Prepare daily meals and snacks
  • Ensure all dishes are washed and sanitized in accordance with Grey Bruce Health Unit
  • Maintain cleanliness/organization of the kitchen and equipment
  • Work as part of a team
  • Attend staff meeting, workshops, courses as required
 

Qualifications:

 Required Skills/Knowledge:

  • Strong communication skills
  • Organized and efficient
  • Experience cooking in large quantities
  • Own transportation

Employment Requirements:

  • Safe Food Handling Certificate
  • Current First Aid & CPR, WHMIS, AODA, Health & Safety (BVO willing to train)
  • Knowledge of Canada’s Food Guide
  • Current, Vulnerable Sector Criminal Reference Check
  • Up to date immunization record with proof
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds unassisted
