Childcare Program Assistant (Summer Student Position)

This is a temporary position that will run for 8 consecutive weeks from the start date.

Job Description

Some responsibilities in this position:

Follow and implement all our Centre’s policies and procedures.

Support a daily balance of active or quiet, indoor or outdoor, individual or group activities.

Ensure toys and the child’s environment are properly cleaned and safe.

Assist children in proper eating and toileting habits.

Observe and communicate needs and interests of child through written and verbal communication.

Help the lead teacher to plan and implement educationally appropriate content while meeting a child’s cognitive, social, emotional and physical development.

Guaranteed full-time hours, 35 hours per week

$20.50/hour

Weekends! (we are only open Monday – Friday)

Qualifications:

• Experience looking after children up to the age of 6.
• The ability to obtain up-to-date immunization records.
• Vulnerable Sector Check
• The ability to bend, kneel and lift up to 30 pounds.
• An outgoing personality suitable for teaching and caring for children.
• Must be 18 years of age to work at our Centre, up to age 30 and a citizen or permanent resident of Canada per the Canada Summer Jobs program.
